A note From the owner
Hi there! I’m Leah — the owner and heart behind Professional Pet Friends.
My inspiration for my small business comes from my own beloved pets: Willow, Murphy, Daphne, Velma, May, and a betta fish named Mellow. Yes, I know it's an earful, but it also means my heart is full too. Truly, my pets have taught me early on just how much our animals become crucial members of our families.
Years ago, I struggled to find pet care that truly felt right — a place where I felt comfortable boarding my pets or a professional I could fully trust to care for them in my own home. That’s when it clicked: why not create the service I had been searching for? And that’s how Professional Pet Friends was born.
With my own pets in mind, I built this business to support each family and pet as individuals. I understand firsthand that pets are family, and they deserve thoughtful, dependable, and compassionate care. That’s why we take a personal, team-based approach focused on consistency, clear communication, knowledgeable sitters, and meaningful updates that help you feel connected while you’re away.
Our goal is simple: to treat every pet, home, and client with the same care and respect we give our own — while keeping you informed and at ease every step of the way.

With a background in veterinary settings, she has a special love for senior pets and small animals and brings a calm, knowledgeable approach to every visit. When she’s not caring for pets, Danielle enjoys hiking and spending time with her partner and her pup, Scully.
Cissy H.
Cissy is one of our trusted pet care providers and a valued member of our management team. As a devoted cat mom and animal lover, she brings experience from a wide range of professional animal care settings, including veterinary offices, fostering, and volunteer work. Cissy has a genuine love for all animals and uses her knowledge and compassion to support both our pets and our team.
Kortney S.
Kortney is one of our trusted pet care providers with several years of professional pet sitting experience and a background working in veterinary clinics. She lives on her family’s farm, where she helps care for beef cattle, chickens, and five dogs, and grew up hands-on with animals of all kinds. As a University of Tennessee graduate with a degree in Animal Science, Kortney brings both experience and education to every visit. She looks forward to caring for your pets and giving you peace of mind while you’re away.
Gabrielle G.
Gabrielle is one of our trusted pet care providers and a current University of Tennessee student studying Animal Science with a focus on pre-veterinary medicine. With over two years of experience working as a veterinary assistant, she’s comfortable caring for pets of all sizes and personalities. Gabrielle recently relocated to the Knoxville area and is a proud pet parent to her pitbull/boxer mix, Andrew. Caring for both people and animals comes naturally to her, and she brings that heart and dedication to every visit as a Professional Pet Friend.

She also brings years of experience as a zookeeper, caring for Great Apes at the Knoxville Zoo. Courtney’s deep knowledge, calm presence, and passion for animal care allow her to confidently support pets of all needs.
